Artist Michael Demain was born in Accrington, Lancashire in 1957. Michael is a self-taught professional wildlife artist, he started painting at the age of 31 after a chance meeting with fellow artist Steven Townsend. Encouraged by Steven to adopt his own style, Michael devoted all of his spare time to painting and has never looked back. A keen advocate for wildlife conservation, Michael devotes his time between painting and being actively involved with the RSPB as assistant project officer in Bowland fells. His time with the RSPB enables him to observe his subjects in their natural habitat, which gives his artwork, energy, realism, movement and life. Michael’s works are admired and held in private collections around the world.
