Hamish Mackie was born in 1973. He grew up on the family farm in Cornwall, England. He attended Radley College and Falmouth University and later studied Design at Kingston University. Hamish became a full time professional sculptor in 1996 and has gone on to have an illustrious career. He is one of the world’s most revered wildlife sculptors having received many awards along with a number of successful solo exhibitions in London and New York. Hamish has been fortunate to travel to a number of countries including African, India, Australia and Antarctica. Being able to view wildlife within their natural surroundings has given Hamish first hand experience and a keen observation for wildlife. His passion for the natural world fuels his skill to capture the physical characteristics of his subjects and to create breathtaking sculptures in his own unique style. Hamish Mackie sculptures can be found in public and private collections throughout the world.
