Norman Neasom was born near Redditch, Worcestershire in 1915. Neasom attended Redditch County High School where at the age of 16 he gained a scholarship at the Birmingham College of Art studying under Bernard Fleetwood Walker. During the Second World War, Neasom became a lecturer at the Birmingham College of Art and later became head of department at Redditch School of Art before retiring in 1979 to concentrate on his art fulltime.
Neasom enjoyed the medium of pencil and watercolour and began to exhibit his works at the Royal Academy, the Royal Birmingham Society, the Royal Watercolour Society and the Mall Galleries London. He regularly exhibited works throughout the 70’s 80’s and 90’s and was an elected member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour and the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. Neasom provided illustrations for numerous books and later produced and published historical British maps. Neasoms’ works are held in permanent collections including Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal Watercolour Society and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
