John Cyril Harrison (1898-1985)

John was born in Tidworth, Wiltshire in 1898. Harrison began drawing at a tender age, learning from taxidermy and birds of prey. After later studying at the Slade school of Art, he moved to Norfolk, settling in a studio in Haynford. He was greatly admired by his peers and collectors of his work. His application of watercolour was incredibly detailed. He was an active supporter of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, I would image this infused Harrison artistic passion for capturing birds in natural flight. Harrison illustrated for many books on birds and held successful art exhibitions in the South East and London galleries.
