Brand new work by Philip Gerrard

Still Life Painting

Due to the popularity of Philip’s work, we are delighted to say that we have a number of new editions added to our collection. The first piece below titled ‘Fruit and Fine Wine’ is technically outstanding and in Philips words, one of his most accomplished works to date. I couldn’t disagree! His ability to create a captivating scene enables one to study each element of the subject in great detail. Your eyes are drawn to an array of elements including the tactile white napkin positioned comfortably beneath two vibrant tangerines. The refections within the carafe of red wine are executed to a very high standard. Equally so are the variety of fresh fruit positioned on either side of the painting which creates a well balanced composition. The wine glass was crafted by the Adrian Sankey Studios in Ambleside and I am reliably informed the glass company expert at Cedar Farm ‘Slyglass’ studied at the same Lake District studios. This exquisite oil painting is beautifully balanced and classically tasteful. All four pieces are currently available and on display in our gallery.

Philip has been busy working on a collection of landscape studies, they include various subjects and rural views from across Lancashire and the Lake District National Park, further information and images will be available soon.

Carnes Fine Art spring exhibition runs until 31st May and there are some wonderful pieces of art available with lots of new acquisitions arriving each week. In the meantime, if you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact the gallery.
