Wildlife Exhibition 16th June – 2nd August 2020

We are delighted to announce a mixed exhibition of brand new works by wildlife artists Clare Shaughnessy and Michael Demain. The exhibition will start on Tuesday 16th June running until Sunday 2nd August. The oil paintings will be available in the gallery and other works will be on the walls of the main atrium at Cedar Farm, as you approach the Roberts & Co coffee shop.  During lockdown both artists have been extremely busy creating some fabulous new pieces! Clare based in beautiful North Wales, has been observing and sketching common garden birds including goldfinches, great tits, bullfinches and robins. Clares skillful use of pencil is unique. Clare once told me “I love drawing the gorgeous little jewels which nestle and glide between the trees in our gardens, parks and woodlands.” Clare’s passion is to connect the viewer to their local wildlife through her artwork and to draw attention to our natural surroundings. We totally agree, Clare’s work most definitely achieves this!

Michael has been working hard with the RSPB in the Forest of Bowland monitoring breeding raptors such as the hen harrier, peregrine, merlin and the short-eared owl being the key species. When Michael is not stomping the fells, he can be found hidden away in his studio creating works from recent photo’s and the visual inspiration taken from the tranquil Lancashire countryside. Michael has produced a number of outstanding works including ‘A portrait of a giant / white rhino’.  This particular piece is currently being exhibited online at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Exhibition 2020. We are incredibly excited to have this tremendously life like piece on display and available to buy in our gallery; this work must be viewed in the flesh to fully appreciate the level of skill behind the hand…in my view, this is just stunning…

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further details and I very much look forward to seeing you soon.

Best wishes, Bradley
