A Warm Welcome to New Gallery Artist Ben Ark

I would like to extend my warmest welcome to our new gallery artist, Ben Ark. I am excited to be collaborating with Ben and showcasing his energetic original mixed media paintings at Carnes Fine Art.

Ben is a mixed media artist based in Salford. Ben’s style slips from precise photorealistic detail to less defined washes of colour. Using traditional painterly techniques alongside digital technology he creates mixed media artworks reflecting his signature theme of contemporary landscapes and urban culture. He encourages thought about the rich and varied life of a city and stimulates conversation about how we exist within, alongside and sometimes in the face of a landscape and the secrets it holds.

Ben has received a number of awards for his work, including the title of ‘Salford Creative Communities Champion’ in 2015 and the neo: art prize, where his work was exhibited alongside fellow contemporary visual artists from around the world.

Recent exhibitions include Manchester Art Fair 2019, Liverpool Art Fair 2019 and the inaugural ‘Open [1] exhibition’ at Salford Museum and Art Gallery. In 2018 Ben was selected to represent the City of Salford in the ‘Technology: Past & Future’ exhibition and in 2017 he was chosen to exhibit at Warrington Contemporary Art Festival and the Royal Society of Marine Artists Annual Exhibition in London.

Ben regularly creates artwork for both residential domestic and commercial settings, working on projects for high profile clients such as McDonalds and has sold his work at charity exhibitions in Manchester, Norway and New York.

Ben’s brand new works are shown below and now available and on display in the gallery!

Carnes Fine Art will be open for late night Christmas shopping on Wednesday 13th November and Wednesday 4th Dec 10:00am – 9:00pm
