Trevor Grimshaw was born in Hyde in 1947. He Studied at Stockport College of Art between 1963 -1968. Grimshaw’s palette favoured pencil and charcoal, his black and grey works are best known for depicting foggy industrial landscapes around the North West of England. Grimshaw exhibited works throughout the UK including the Royal Academy, the British Institute of Fine Art, the Royal Cambrian Society, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Glasgow Institute of Fine Art. His works are held in the permanent collection of the Salford, Stockport, Bury and Tameside Art Galleries. Eminent collectors of Grimshaw’s works included L.S Lowry, Sir Edward Heath and the Warburton family.
