Peter Brook (1927-2009)

Peter Book was born in Scholes, West Yorkshire in 1927. He was educated at Goldsmiths College, London where he studied teaching. Brook enjoyed attending art galleries and drawing classes and following his studies in the 1960’s became a full-time artist. He enjoyed considerable success exhibiting works at well renowned London art gallery Agnews. Brook’s portrayal of the farming community around Yorkshire and the Pennine moors were greatly received. He had a prolific career and demand for his works remain incredibly strong to this day. A number of Brook’s works are held in the Tate collection and numerous public galleries throughout Yorkshire, including Leeds and Wakefield Art Galleries.
