Bernard McMullen was born in Birmingham in 1952 and grew up in the mining village of Hurley in Warwickshire. Bernard join the Army at the age of 15 and served 22 years in The Royal Fusiliers and in 1982 he was awarded the British Empire Medal for Gallantry. In 1988 Bernard married and settled in Manchester. The city gave Bernard inspiration to capture the hustle and bustle of northern life within his compositions. He went on to have several successful exhibitions including one at the City of Salford Art Gallery which was a complete sell out.
Bernard’s art work has been acquired by many leading companies such as Manchester United Football Club and BUPA. To this day, Bernard’s work remains collectable by Northern Art enthusiasts.
