Alan Smith was born in Kiel, Germany in 1941. He later moved to England in 1953, where his family has lived ever since, settling on the South coast.
Alan is a self-taught artist who has developed many different styles. It is Alan’s ability to adapt and improve his technique that has enabled him to produce work of such high calibre. Although he started painting using watercolours he now concentrates on working with acrylics and oils.
Alan devotes most of his time to painting and travels extensively throughout the UK gaining material to inspire his artwork.
