Jacqueline Stanhope was born in Scotland in 1963. Her artistic talents were clear from an early age. With a self-proclaimed obsession with horses, Jacqueline would spend her childhood sketching away and on her eleventh birthday, she bought herself a box of oil paints. Apparently, this was a life changing experience as she could now capture a full range of textures and colours when executing the finer details of her chosen subject.
By the age of fourteen, Jacqueline was commissioned to paint the legendary racehorse, Nijinsky and two years later she left school to become a full time professional artist. From jockeys and racehorses to shires on a country lane, Jacqueline’s highly accomplished work is instinctively recognisable and continues to be admired by traditional and contemporary fine art collectors and leading figures within the horse racing world.
